Education remains an issue when it comes to ADAS systems and calibrations

One of the biggest problems I see is the lack of understanding the different ADAS systems on vehicles today. Add that to, not understanding the importance of re-calibrating these systems after repairs and you have a recipe for disaster. Too many shops are not calibrating vehicles after repairs and are unwilling to invest in the equipment and space needed to do calibrations properly. If you or your shop is not going to do calibrations after repairing a vehicle (or sublet them out) equipped with ADAS systems, you should not be doing the repairs. Returning a vehicle back to a customer without performing the necessary calibrations is unprofessional, irresponsible, and outright dangerous. Check out this article published in AutoBodyNews that discusses a recent survey conducted by consumers that have had an ADAS equipped vehicle repaired.
